The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 extended many consumer tax incentives originally introduced in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT) and amended in the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-343). This is great news for consumers who pay federal taxes. Not so great news for non-profits who would like to implement renewable energy systems but pay no federal taxes and thus aren’t eligible for the credit.
Free—It’s the Right Price for Solar Energy Systems
Charities and non-profits that operate as 501(c)(3) organizations can still benefit from federal tax credits, although indirectly. If your building or land meets the feasibility requirements for a Green Warrior On-Site Energy System™ (OES), you could have a state-of-the-art solar system installed at absolutely no cost. Because Green Warrior assumes all costs for the OES, from design and installation to operation and maintenance, non-profit customers do not pay one penny for the equipment, labor or on-going support of the solar system.

OES customers simply agree, via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), to purchase the energy produces by the OES installed on their building or land. The savings are guaranteed by contract. Plus, the savings could increase over time compared to rates charged by utilities. In some instances, OES customers could pay 40% less for electricity than their neighbors within ten years.
