Mini Storage
Mini storage and self-storage facilities are uniquely suited to hosting solar systems, such as Green Warrior’s no-cost On-Site Energy Systems™ (OESs). Most mini storage buildings are single story and have flat roofs, which simplifies installation and allows for high-density arrays of panels. Additionally, self-storage units usually have flat roofs, which simplifies installation and allows for high-density arrays of panels.
Roof-Top Solar Power for Storage
By design, mini storage facilities are most cost-effective when as much of available real estate as possible is used for rentable storage space. This high-density design makes it optimal for solar systems because it translates directly into maximum roof space.
Mini storage facilities typically consume very little electricity, particularly in states with temperate weather where HVAC systems aren’t required or are used infrequently. This means that a self-storage business with a Green Warrior OES can be almost entirely independent from its local utility.
Parking and Open Space Energy Production
Green Warrior is committed to designing, installing and operating OESs for owners of self-storage and mini storage facilities. While mini storage rooftops are ideally suited for solar installations, many storage businesses also have substantial parking and open space areas. Green Warrior can add value to parking lots by installing an OES configured as a solar carport. Customers get protection from the elements. While business owners get convenient AC power that can be used for any purpose—from lighting to charging electric cars or golf carts.
Open space adjacent to storage facilities can be used to house larger solar farms. These ground-level OESs can provide more than enough electricity to power the whole facility, and usually provide considerable surplus electricity that can be sold back to the grid.
